EXCHANGES

BASIC OBJECTIVES

– To get to know significant aspects of another country, another culture, another way of life, other timetables, helping them to value and respect other languages and cultures different from their own.

– To transfer language learning in the classroom to specific real-life situations, developing in practice the ability to understand and produce oral and written messages.

To encourage pupils to recognise their ability to learn a language, assuming an active and increasingly autonomous role in the development of communicative skills and in overcoming the problems that may arise in their learning process.

LINGUISTIC AND, ABOVE ALL, LIFE EXPERIENCE

B2 EXAMS

As part of the process of learning French, there are a significant number of students in the 2nd year of baccalaureate who sit the B2 level exam of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and successfully pass it.

SCHOOL EXCHANGE WITH FRANCE

The school exchange with France is an activity that has been carried out since 1995.

It is currently being carried out between the Blanche de Castille school in Nantes and URKIDE.

During ten days, our students live and share experiences with French families in the city of Nantes. Depending on the school calendar, the dates of our stay in
France are usually in November, and the corresponding French students come in February or March.

It is an activity designed, in principle, for students of 4th year of ESO and 1st year of baccalaureate, as they have already acquired the necessary skills to be able to manage in this linguistic immersion

SCHOOL EXCHANGE WITH GERMANY

When studying a language, the linguistic part is not the only important one, it is also important to know the country where it is spoken, its culture, customs, history, … This is why, in the subject of German we have been offering the students of 1st year of baccalaureate the opportunity to live in first person a small immersion in Germany, living with a German family. The chosen location is the Ruhr area in the city of Marl, near Cologne, at the GIL Marl institute.
This experience is enriching because the German students also share with us a few days in Vitoria-Gasteiz getting to know our culture, language, way of living…
